Prof Guy Bingham

Principal Investigator
Prof Guy Bingham is Chair of Design at De Montfort University and Director of the Design Unit– an autonomous, design-research organisation that offers a range of research and New Product Development (NPD) opportunities. He holds a first degree in Product Design & Manufacture and a PhD in the Design of 3D printing textiles, both from Loughborough University. He has been an active researcher in 3D printing since 2003 and an internationally recognised expert on 3D printing textiles/fashion and design for 3D printing.
His total research grant funding is in excess of £7.6million and includes projects from the EPSRC, Innovate UK, EU commission, AHRC and Research England. Prof Bingham is a Peer Review College member for the AHRC and EPSRC with a portfolio of over 50 publications including Journal and Conference articles, Book chapters, Patents and exhibited Artworks.
